MADE TO ORDER - BUILT DIFFERENT
You're not just tossing extensions into someoneâs hair last minuteâyouâre coordinating schedules, prepping your clients, and showing up like a pro. We see you. Thatâs why weâre keeping it real when it comes to production times.
We donât mass stock rows of cookie-cutter hair. Why? Because we actually give a damn about quality, consistency, and setting you up for a flawless install every time. That means a lot of our hair is made to order, especially less common colors or textures.
We donât over-promise. We donât cut corners. We definitely donât believe in rushing premium hair just to meet Amazon-level speed expectations.
Please allow 11â14 business days for production, not including shipping. Sometimes itâs faster, but thatâs our safe window. We'd rather be upfront than have you scrambling to reschedule a client.
NEED IT ASAP?
Hit the Ready to Ship section for select colors and textures we do keep stocked. These ship quick and are still the same Untamed quality you trust.
Why does it take so long?
Because quality isnât rushed. We work with specialized manufacturers who donât cut cornersâand when we say weâre customizing your order, we mean it. Most companies donât offer this level of flexibility.
Whatâs actually in stock?
Some bestsellers and core shades/textures are stocked. If you're in a time crunch, shop the Ready to Ship collection or reach outâwe'll tell you what weâve got on hand.
What if my client cancels or reschedules?
Once an order is placed, itâs locked in and already being made. We donât accept cancellations on made-to-order itemsâbut we do recommend ordering early and building a little buffer into your schedule.
Can I track the production process?
Youâll get shipping confirmation as soon as your order is packed and on the move. If youâre wondering about timing, weâre always happy to check in for youâjust shoot us an email.
Do you ever rush orders?
If we can make it happen, we will. But we wonât sacrifice quality to hit a deadline. If youâre in a bind, email us before placing your order and weâll be honest about whatâs possible.
OUR SOURCING STANDARDS
We believe the extension industry needs more transparency-and we're committed to being part of that shift. The truth is, the extension industry is full of vague claims and feel-good marketing, but if a brand canât show you proof, then the claim is just a claim.
Weâve spent years carefully selecting factories that are open about their practices and show respect for the workers behind the product. Weâve asked the hard questions, pushed for more visibility, and continue to build relationships with suppliers who are willing to be transparent.
We are currently conducting audits to ensure our partners receive third-party certification to back an âethically sourcedâ label, with verification you can actually see, trust, and trace for yourself. Weâre doing the workâand weâre not interested in selling fairy tales. Weâre here to raise the bar, ask better questions, and give stylists and clients a brand they can actually trust.
This is about building something better from the ground up.
CARING FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS
THE UNTAMED EXTENSION CO METHOD
You invested in high-quality hair; now itâs time to treat it like it. Whether youâre the stylist laying the magic or the client rocking the final look, this care guide is your no-BS blueprint for long-lasting results.
1. WASHING + CONDITIONING
ONLY WASH WHEN NECESSARY
Extensions donât receive natural oils from your scalp like your real hair does, so they stay clean longer, but they also dry out faster. Only wash when thereâs visible buildup, heaviness, or oiliness.
Overwashing fades color, causes dryness, and drastically shortens the life of your wefts.
Overwashing fades color, causes dryness, and drastically shortens the life of your wefts.
BRUSH THOROUGHLY BEFORE WASHING
This prevents tangling and breakage during the washing process. Start at the ends and work your way up using an extension-safe brush or wide-tooth comb.
USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS
Sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo is non-negotiableâit cleanses without stripping the hair or damaging the weft attachment. Silicone-free conditioner keeps the hair soft and light without creating heavy buildup that can cause slippage or dullness.
BE GENTLE WITH YOUR SCALP + BONDS
Massage shampoo gently onto the scalp with your fingertips. Avoid scrubbing or flipping your head upside downâthis tangles the extensions and puts pressure on the wefts or bonds.
CONDITION WITH INTENTION
Only apply conditioner from the mid-lengths down to the ends. Conditioner at the weft or bond site can loosen attachments, lead to slippage, and trap moisture where bacteria can grow.
RINSE WITH COOL WATER
Cool water seals the cuticle for smoother, shinier strands. It also helps lock in color and prevents unnecessary frizz.
PRO TIP*
Always wash in a downward motion. Flip your hair back, not upside down. Keep it calm, not chaotic.
2. DRYING + STYLING
DRY YOUR ROOTS EVERY TIME
Leaving the base of your extensions damp (especially with sewn or beaded wefts) creates the perfect breeding ground for mildew, bacteria, and scalp irritation. Blow-dry the weft line or bond area completely before heading out or going to bed.
NO ROUGH TOWEL DRYING
Vigorously rubbing your hair with a towel will cause tangling, matting, and frizz. Instead, blot or gently squeeze water out using a microfiber towel or an old T-shirt.
AIR-DRYING IS QUEEN - BUT PREP IT RIGHT
If you air-dry, make sure roots are still dry and youâve brushed and detangled beforehand. Air-drying tangled hair leads to knots, matting, and early shedding.
HEAT WITH CARE
Use a heat protectant every time you styleâno exceptions. Keep hot tools below 350°F to preserve the hairâs cuticle and maintain that Untamed softness.
KEEP PRODUCTS OFF THE ROOTS
Heavy oils, serums, and styling products near the weft or bond can cause slippage, buildup, and residue thatâs hard to clean. Keep them mid-shaft and below.
STYLING TIPS*
â Use professional-grade tools with temp control
â Hold tools away from bond lines and seams
â Keep curls and styles loose to minimize heat repetition
3. SLEEPING
NEVER SLEEP WITH WET HAIR
This is one of the fastest ways to ruin extensions. Wet roots = trapped moisture = bacteria, odor, and breakdown of the bond or thread. Always dry roots thoroughly.
SECURE YOUR HAIR
Brush hair completely, then loosely braid it or secure it in a low ponytail before bed. This prevents tangling, friction, and matting overnight.
SLEEP ON SILK OR SATIN
Cotton pillowcases absorb moisture and create friction. Silk or satin keeps hair gliding and intact, reduces frizz, and helps preserve your style.
REMEMBER*
You invested in premium hair. Taking 3 extra minutes at night is what keeps it from looking like bargain-bin beauty.
COMMON CUSTOMER QUESTIONS
(aka the stuff people always ask... and we actually answer)
What makes Untamed hair different from other extension brands?
We are not just tossing hair in a pretty bag and calling it luxury. Untamed hair is ethically sourced, built to last, and made for stylists who care about quality. Our wefts are durable, color consistent, and free from unwanted warm tones. Every pack is made for real customization, not factory mass production.
Is this real human hair?
One hundred percent real Remy human hair. No fillers, no mystery blends, and definitely no synthetic fibers hiding inside. What you see is what you get
Can I color Untamed extensions?
Yes, but be smart about it. Untamed hair can be colored by a licensed professional using low volume developer. We do not recommend lightening it further. Blondes will not always take dark color evenly, so choose a shade close to your goal or reach out for help.
Can I use heat on it?
Absolutely. Just treat it like your real hair and use heat protection every single time. Keep your hot tools under 350 degrees to protect the cuticle and maintain softness.
How long does Untamed hair last?
With proper care, nine to twelve months or longer. If you baby it, it will ride with you through everything. If you fry it and forget about it, expect to replace it sooner.
Can I return the hair if it is not the right shade?
If it is unopened, unused, and in perfect condition, you can request a return or exchange within 30 days of receiving your order. Custom orders are final sale. No exceptions. We do not resell hair that has been tampered with.
Can I sleep in my extensions?
You better not be going to bed with damp roots. Always dry them completely. Brush your hair and secure it in a loose braid or low ponytail. Sleeping on silk is a bonus.
How do I prevent dryness or tangling?
Keep it moisturized but light. Use a sulfate free shampoo and a conditioner only from mid length to ends. Brush daily with an extension safe brush and always detangle before bed.
Do I need a licensed stylist to install these?
Yes. These are professional grade extensions meant to be installed by trained hands. A do it yourself install is not part of the Untamed experience.
Do you offer perks for professionals?
Yes. Join the Pro Club and get exclusive access to perks, early drops, and insider pricing that actually rewards your work. This brand was built for stylists like you.
What colors do you offer?
Everything from deep espresso to icy platinum. We have warm tones, cool tones, rooted blends, and rich solids. Our Signature Solids collection features clean one tone colors, and we are always adding more.
How do I become a stockist?
The Stockist Program is for stylists and salons ready to invest in inventory and grow their extension business. Choose your colors, pick your pack quantities, and lock in premium perks. Minimum buy in starts at ten thousand. Fill out the inquiry form to get started.
How long does shipping take?
In stock items usually take 5 to 7 business days to ship to your door. Custom orders ship out in eleven to fourteen business days. Once shipped, they arrive in about five to seven business days depending on your location.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If it has not gone into production yet, we may be able to catch it. But once it is in motion, we cannot stop it. Everything is made to order and moves fast.
